Following a tip-off to the RRS operatives by the
producer of the water company that was adulterated,
Mr. Sunday Nnaduaga & other Five suspects have been arrested at no 3, Adesola
Street, Ago-Palace Way, Okota in Lagos for re-
packaging water in dispensable jars and sachets and selling them to unsuspecting banks and companies.
The suspect was arrest alongside his accomplice,Ofonime Ikpe and other co-workers for re-packaging
water in dispensable jars and sachets and selling them to unsuspecting banks and companies.
As reported, the owner of the water
bottling company said one of the suspects,
Chukwuma, had once worked for him as a marketer but had disappeared without due
notice.
“I just noticed that he just stopped coming to office
and efforts to reach him via his mobile phones
proved abortive as all his lines were switched off.”
Mr Sunday, claimed he was later hinted by one of
his friend who had seen his run-away employee
distributing dispensable water to his customers.
“Since that day I started to keep tab on him until I
caught him red-handed selling produced water with several registered names in an unkempt
environment. Afterwards, I hinted RRS team on patrol which led to the arrest of the two suspects.” Says mr Sunday.
The prime suspect, chukwuma while confessing to
the crime said;
“I decided to use the brand name because it has a
ready-made market. We had many customers
particularly new generation banks that patronize us.
Before now, I had worked as a marketer for him but
he was paying me poorly despite all the huge sales I
made for him and the only way to make my own
sales was to use his brand name which is
acceptable to many people,”
Confirming the incident the commander of RRS,
Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olatunji Disu revealed the suspect was arrest alongside his accomplice, Ofonime Ikpe and other co workers, they
have been transferred to the State Investigation and Intelligent Bureau in Ikeja..
